From a total of 444 projects, Huazhong Gravity Research Center has received the 1st Prize in the public building category. The award was designated on 20th February by an expert commitee for the 2022 Hubei Province Design Achievements Survey.

Approved by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Wuhan City was selected in 2017 as “Design Capital” of the global creative city network. As a historical district of Wuhan, Sanyang is undergoing a makeover, bridging its rich ancient architecture with the needs of contemporary urban life, with the aim of becoming a world-class creative district.

Vector was selected to join the competition to design the office park of Shenglong Metallurgical Co., in Fangcheng, facing Beibu Gulf. Shenglong Steel is the largest private steel company in China, is listed on the Top 500 Chinese Enterprises list and ranks first among the Top 100 Guangxi Private Enterprises.

Designed in cooperation with Parisian firm Deux et Demi, Wuhan People Paradise is an entertainment facility originally built in 1919. The place is reinventing itself, blending the future of entertainment with heritage.

“Legend has it that colleges and universities in Wuhan each embraces a hill. And Huazhong University of Science and Technology embraces the highest peak of the downtown area of Wuhan. Yujia Shan.” The National Gravity Research Center designed by Vector, mentioned as a key national scientific and technological equipment, is set at the foot of this hill.

Embracing biophilic architecture principles, Vector is the laureate of the competition for the design of the Core of the Future. Located at the center of Jianzhou New Town, close to Chengdu's recently opened Tianfu International Airport, the project proposes an iconic image of clouds seemingly floating above the extended central park of the city. The mixed-use program comprises offices, apartments, a 5-star hotel as well as commercial and cultural facilities.

Based on the experience and reputation acquired over the years in the field of office parks, Vector is invited to join the competition to design an office park in Beijing, for a leading industrial group.

Today, the difficult fight against the aggressive Covid-19 teaches interesting lessons to architects involved in Public, Residential and Commercial projects… as well as in Hospital design. In fact, both design strategies are linked in a way that the goal is always to create some kind of barrier between the polluted outside and the clean inside with a transitional area in between.

- In the case of residential or public areas, the design is linked mostly to the (re)design of the transitional entrance area, or lobby.

- In the case of hospitals, the design is obviously more complex but the goal stays the same: a careful progression from open public spaces, to staff secure & clean areas.

This is the principle we have used in our recent design for an International Hospital in Wuhan which could become, with some adjustments, a reference for the hospitals of tomorrow.

Vector was selected to take part in an international competition for a super high-rise tower in a prime location of Chengdu, Sichuan, for one of the largest Chinese industrial groups.

Matthieu Augereau was invited to take part in an event in Shenzhen with the Smart Building Alliance for Smart Cities (SBA) with representatives of large groups like ENGIE, Vinci, Decayeux, Artelia… as well as startups during its learning and networking expedition to China. Created in France in 2012, SBA is an industrial association whose main objective is to support and promote the actors of the building industry in the digitalization and the sustainability era.

Vector has been commissioned to renovate a “historical” landmark tower in the center of Chengdu, Sichuan, as part of a plan to revitalize the surroundings of Tianfu Square.
